About YUPC

Our mission and how we work toward it

The Yale Undergraduate Piano Collective (YUPC) was founded in Spring 2017 by Rishi Mirchandani M.C. '19. The mission of the collective is to create a sense of community among undergraduate pianists at Yale. To this end, YUPC organizes a variety of events, including the following.

  • “Studio Classes” — Informal get-togethers where pianists play pieces of their choice for one another to practice performing and to receive feedback from each other
  • Duets & Donuts — Nighttime sight-reading parties with a focus on repertoire written for multiple pianists and an equally strong focus on donuts
  • Masterclasses — Opportunities for undergraduates to perform for and learn from concert pianists in a public setting
  • Public performances — Group recitals with an emphasis on exploring the collaborative repertoire for four, six, and eight hands
YUPC is run by students, for students. Click here to meet the YUPC Board.
